Most publishers have stopped accepting book proposals that are not submitted by agents. For example Random House and most of its major counterparts refuse to accept unsolicited material.

The term “self-publishing” still carries a stigma for many in the book industry. “Vanity publishing" generally means no bookstore distribution with authors expected to purchase however many copies required to sell to the general public.

Shelter House Publishing Group LLC offers traditional publishing to unpublished authors. My extensive experience in the music industry has shown me that you never know where the next “hit” will come from.

We are also looking to acquire books previously released in print form for which the author has either retained digital rights or digital rights revert to them. If you do not have digital files let us know. We will scan and convert to the appropriate digital format.
